Burning Man – Festival in the desert

Burning Man will be the springboard for our big trip. It is staged every year on Labor Day weekend. Started on a beach in San Francisco, it found its current home in the Nevada desert. The authorities didn’t appreciate people burning an effigy on a public beach.

The purpose of this blog is to document our long voyage traversing the North and South American continents. It is to stay in touch with our friends and family back home in San Francisco, in our ancestral homeland of India, and those we meet along the way. It is to communicate with our future selves.

Bug!

It is an utter and complete surprise to find bugs in the pre-alpha version of the blog.

A cursory inspection revealed that the links from the info windows on the google maps page were rendering into the iFrame and not loading a new page.

The solution to this was to replace the href’s with a teeny bit of JavaScript to make it work, but if I did that it would break the KML for Google Earth. Rock (me) Hard Place.
