The Antarctic is a place of extremes – from the dreaded Drake Passage to the serene and haunting Lemaire Channel. Cute chubby penguins waddle around on land, only to be attacked and ripped to shreds by Leopard seals in the water. Human settlers endure isolation, cold, and pungent odors of penguin poo. No matter what your personal opinion of the place it is ever changing and always interesting.
